Gott kvöld, kæri Eiríkur Smile

”Good evening, dear Eiríkur”

I’m also sorry for the financial crisis in your country like in the rest of the world and that this has affect you.

I completely agree with you about that health is the most important. Money doesn’t give you happiness, and now I’m not talking about the money we need to satisfy our needs with. But we are unfortunately affected by sensorialism, and will not be happy if we don’t find a balance, learn from the misery out there and respect the good things we have.

Have a wonderful afternoon you too. Lazy fits so well when it comes to me Biggrin!

Stórt faðmlag til þín <3

“A big hug to you”

I receive a lot of emails regarding the Icelandic financial situation in general and if or how Eiríkur and I are affected. Last part first; Norway has a good economy, and the crisis will not hit as hard here as in other parts of the world. I'm not directly affected other than that my loans will get more expensive. Eiríkur has answered in guestbook message below, and there's no need to ask me about anything regarding him unless it is homepage related Wink

When it comes to the financial situation on Iceland, it is very different from what the rest of the world now experience. One example: The USA has lost about 1/20 of its national income. Iceland has lost somewhere between 9/1 - 12/1 of its national income. Do the math... The country is so to speak bankrupt - 9 to 12 times in one.

My thoughts goes to those of you who have lost your savings, home and/or jobs. I am really sorry, and pray this will change the global economy system.

Hi Eiríkur!
The financial crisis is more or less worldwide and I feel very sorry for all those who lose both homes and jobs, and I'm sorry to hear that you too risk to lose a lot of money.

I tried the same in January this year. My local Bank collapsed and I lost all of my savings. But I sold my house two years ago, so I have absolute nothing to complain about. For me it was only money and my own choice to put them on shares.Wink

That's all for now. Best wishes to you and your family.
Love Hanne

Hello my friends! Yes serious things happening in Iceland. I risk to lose a lot of money but that is nothing compared to those who now will lose their houses and jobs. My thoughts go to them. And this reminds me once again that a good health is the most important thing in life. Never forget that. Have a wonderful lazy Sunday afternoon...

Góðan daginn, kæri Eiríkur! Ég veit að þú eigir 50 ára afmæli að ári Biggrin, þá verð ég 18 en það er synd að ég á afmæli í Október svo ég get ekki séð þig og fallega landið þitt þessi dagur.

Vel á minnst, aldur er eitthvað huglægt, held ég. Hann er ekki allur þar sem hann er séður…

Myndirnar eru fallegar og skemmtilegar! Og þú ert svo sætur eins og alltaf. Smile

Mínar bestu kveðjur til þín líka!
Ég elska þig <3

“God day, dear Eiríkur! I know that you have your 50th birthday next year Biggrin, I will be 18 then but it’s a shame that my birthday is in October so I can’t see you and your beautiful country that day.

By the way, age is something subjective, I think. Appearances can be deceiving...

The pictures are beautiful and amusing! And you are so sweet like always. Smile

My best wishes to you too!
I love you <3”

Hi Eiríkur!
Reading your Diary is always fun, and I would like to have seen your face when the damed computer didn't workBiggrin.

It's fantastic to hear that you have fans in Russia too, and I wish you all the best while you are on tour.

Do you know what. I turned 50 on July 3. this year, and it was a fantastic experience. I have never felt so relaxed, so free and so shure of who I am, and that is a wonderfull feeling. So relax and enjoy your birthday party in Iceland. You deserve to have the most wonderfull day of your life. Would have loved to be there to celebrate you, but I already have desided to go to Gressvik in August 2009. And this time I'll be there.

That's all for now, but take care and enjoy life.Hugs and Kisses.

Hello, Merja. The MySpace music player has only room for 6 songs, and right now the MySpace technical crew are making some changes to the player so that we unfortunately cannot add new songs at the moment. But as soon as those problems are solved, I can promise you a change of songs in Eiríkur's music player there.

Note: You can listen to "Ég Les Í Lófa Þínum" here on Eiríkur's homepage. Just click on Media -> Audio and you'll find it there!

HI EIKI!
And now on top of all your other good news and achievements you are getting great reviews on your show - and as it seems, more shows are to come. Congratulations! I would take my hat off for you if I had one on, but we are still having pretty mild temperatures, so hats are not needed - yet.Biggrin So I´ll bearhug you instead.

“You are always welcome, dear Eiríkur Smile. Yes, it´s good being creative. I understand someone who has a lot to do because this is a feeling I often have since I´m very lazy and it´s difficult for me to finish everything. Yes, the problem isn´t that one has his hands full but ones attitude to it.

A big hug and kisses to you too <3”

I want to thank you for blogging. I´m not going to comment it more than by saying that you are a courageous man and you have a charming style of writing. It is so much you!!!!

I believe you´re busy with your guitar-playing and the preparations for the Magic Pie CD, among other things. It would have been good if you could have concentrated on singing, since that is absolutely your forte, but learning more about something is always fun and a great challenge.

So good luck with everything!

Sæll aftur kæri Eiríkur!

Ég er líka hamingjusam að þú ert frískur nú, ég man að það raunverulega var sárt þegar ég fékk að vita um veikindin þín.

Það var fegið að heyra að þú hefur verið í Gríkklandi (landið mitt). Ég vona líka að sjá fallega landið þitt!

Ég er svo innilega sammála með Hanne með að við erum ekki hamingjusamari. Við lífum í þessi spillti heimi án merking í lífinum okkur. Við viljum meira og meira og verðum ekki hamingjusamir með nokkuð…

"Hi again dear Eiríkur!

I´m also happy that you are well now, I remember that it really hurted when I got to know about your illness.

It was pleasant to hear that you have been in Greece (my country). I also hope to visit your beautiful country!

I completely agree with Hanne with that we aren´t happier. We are living in this corrupted world without meaning in our lives. We want more and more and don´t get happy with anything…"

Saw you in Frankfurt and I got chills down my backbone. No wonder why Ken Hensley chose you as his lead vocal. Your voice is insanely good! So, when will you record for him? Have you already?

Hi Eiríkur!
Good to read that 2007 has been such a fine period for you, and I'm pleased to hear that you are free of Cancer tooBiggrin

And yes we are wealthy here in Scandinavia. But are we happier? No! Every day I hear well-to-do people complaine about everything from the taxes, to how much they must pay for a dinner in a fancy restaurant. What about dining at home together with family and friends? No, it isn't enough to show who you are!

About your new house. Neighbours and friends always demand a party when something is happening, and where I live new things seems to happen quite oftenBiggrin

Reading your Diary is much more fun than Agatha's novels, and I know what I'm talking about cause I have read most og them.

That's all for now, but take care!

Love Hanne

Hi Eiríkur,
I also want to thank you for sharing your thoughts with us in your diary. It was perhaps a good thing for you to look back one more time and write everything out of your system, just as we have to get used to the idea that life goes on for you on other arenas. I think it´s safe to say that all of us just wish that you will find fulfilment in all the new - and old - things you will be doing. Let Valentine Lost be a beautiful episode in your life, but don´t hold back, because some of us - me included Biggrin - particularly loved that song and would have liked to hear more of the same kind. You have to follow your heart, wherever it takes you. But if someone like Svenni should come and tap you on the shoulder and suggest to you another lovely song that you can relate to, for heaven´s sake, don´t say no!Biggrin
Love, Cathy
